Updating Policies and Procedures

It is possible that your healthcare facility already has a screening policy and response procedures for human trafficking; however, it is important to ensure they are comprehensive and clearly define human trafficking and note the differences with other forms of abuse (e.g., elder abuse, intimate partner violence).

This checklist is intended to provide practical guidance on key components of a human trafficking screening policy and response procedure.
