Mari Kira

Assistant Research Scientist

Throughout my career, my research has focused on the question: “How do people grow at work?”. On conceptual and practical levels, I’ve been interested in learning more about how work can have positive psychological consequences in terms of enriched and deeper self-definitions and worldviews. Drawing from personality, positive, and organizational psychology, I also explore adult psychological growth that can emerge from struggles with life’s adversities. Moreover, my research focuses on the meaning of wellbeing among vulnerable and marginalized people (e.g., refugees; individuals with a history of incarceration), and the strategies and resources that foster their wellbeing.
